Deadly wreck just a mistake

Why is it when a car crashes or someone gets drunk and speeds everyone compares it to Raymond Prokop? Once again (News-Times, Jan. 10) the media portrays a sick and twisted view of the truth.

I know for a fact what it feels like to take a life and that’s not something you push off lightly. I also remember how Mr. Prokop handled it. Believe me it was a regretful mistake. Sure I can tell you of the injustice of a Navy wife dying, yet Terrence seems to forget that Molly was a friend to us as well. Not to mention what her mother had to feel. Those petty, quick dollar suits against Prokop, and behold the biased system of the trial, more often than not placing blame on the male without taking in most of the facts.

When my friend was killed on Highway 20 in a crash where was the paper reporting that? Why is everything Prokop’s fault? Why is he now the poster boy for vehicular homicide? Whatever it takes for getting your front page story.

People make mistakes, let he who is without sin cast the first stone!
