Common sense loses in election

The recent attempt to elect an Island County Commissioner from Camano Island illustrates the fact that commonsense intelligence is no longer a prerequisite for election to public office. We’ll soon learn as an “i-Pod” nation voting emotionally rather than logically comes with a dear price. Choices made consequences paid, as the old Midwest saying goes.
