City ignores average citizens

Thank you Whidbey News-Times for your editorial cartoon on Wednesday, Aug. 22, regarding Dillard’s addition. It is refreshing to know that the points we have been trying so desperately to get across for the past few months are finally coming to light.

Contrary to what this administration may be trying to portray, for the majority of Dillard residents, the issues have little to do with a desire to remain on septic systems or an unwillingness to connect to city sewer.

Instead, this has been about the extraordinary lengths this administration has gone to in order to appease a developer while simultaneously violating and ignoring the rights of its average citizens.

I encourage the Whidbey News-Times to move forward with a continuing investigation into these matters, as the facts, up to this point, indicate some highly questionable (if not illegal) actions by the city of Oak Harbor thus far. The citizens of Oak Harbor have a right and need, to know what their government has done and is continuing to do.
