Danny Paggao deserves to be retained in the City Council Position No. 7. He is running for reelection because of his deep desire to serve the people of Oak Harbor.

He is passionate about his duties as a council member and to proudly represent our city that he came to love. He continues to work toward his dream to make Oak Harbor No. 1 on the list of the most livable small town in the nation.

Danny is not in the council to serve the agenda of any political party or interest groups. People reelected him repeatedly because he is someone that could be trusted. He will always be the voice for all people regardless of race and status.

His critics said he has been in the council for too long, but the fact is that Danny has done many good things for our city and will continue to do so in the quiet kind of way. He listens to people’s ideas and concerns and then addresses them to the city council for discussion and action.

All the volunteer work he has done in the past and currently is proof of his genuine commitment to serve our community through Habitat for Humanity, New Leaf, Oak Harbor Educational Foundation and Public Works and Utilities Standing Committee.

He has also showed strong leadership when he was the president of the Fil-Am Association for two successful terms and remained as one of the advisors.

Danny is a kind, decent and generous person but his honesty and integrity are undeniably in the forefront of his overall character.

He has earned the trust and respect of his colleagues and anyone who knows him. His fellow council members chose him to be the mayor pro tem, serving since 2002.

His experience in the business of the city is instrumental in running a good government. His long term service is not in any way a detriment to the council.

No “new blood,” as his opponent likes to quote, will effectively serve the city and its citizens especially if his allegiance is to the current mayor.

Danny served our country honorably for 23 years in the Navy, then retired from his second career as a financial management specialist.

He is the recipient of various awards and achievements, too many to mention here. His work ethic is impeccable as such that he always does fact-finding research and attends the council meetings well prepared and learned. He is that committed and dedicated to his duty as a council member.

I respectfully ask each of you, my fellow voters, to join me in reelecting Danny Paggao for Position No. 7. Send in your ballot by Nov. 5.
