This is my reply to the lady that wrote the letter published June 2 concerning her not getting a 10 percent military discount. Get over it! You are not the active duty individual and the discount specifically states for active duty only.

I’m retired from active duty and I know the difference. You aren’t serving your country, he is! Oak Harbor is a great place to live and I feel they do support their military in every way possible. Sorry if you feel this is not true. Bottom line is, if it says for active duty, you need an active duty ID card not a brown dependents card period.
