Concerning Chief Koorn’s action to seek reimbursement from the driver that caused a traffic accident: I truly hope the city of Oak Harbor and Island County are also seeking reimbursement from every offending driver that damages government property. For example, if the driver knocks down a stop sign or a guardrail, I hope the government is billing the driver just like a traffic accident victim is billing the offending driver for damage to the victim’s vehicle.
