Most people in this community take the OHHS Band for granted. There was an uproar after the lack of participation at state football games after we were only given a two days notice that ASB even wanted us there at all.

People roared that we weren’t in the holiday parade but did they notice that many were in small ensembles along the parade route, on our own time? Do you notice ensembles playing at parties, ceremonies and more?

Well, I have to ask if the community has been in the band room lately. It is leaking and can possibly ruin thousands of dollars worth of instruments. A ceiling tile fell during third period today. We have also been informed that hundreds of gallons of water are sitting on our roof. On top of all that, the district band festival, a highlight of our year, has been cancelled. So before you start complaining that the band wasn’t here or they didn’t do this, please remember our band room. And oh . . . please give us at least two weeks’ (preferably more) notice before an event.
