Vet Resource Center needs support

Since opening the doors at the new center on February 2014, the Whidbey Veterans Resource Center has experienced steady growth while assisting veterans from all parts of Whidbey Island. Island County.

With more than 13,000 veterans, Whidbey Island has the highest number “per capita” of veterans in Washington state. Of these, more than 2,300 are younger veterans and more than 2,500 are classified as disabled. Since our opening we have assisted vets and their families in accessing services, providing ongoing support groups, and sponsored or supported multiple needed projects. Of special significance, the annual Stand Down, this past August served nearly 70 veterans and their families in accessing much-needed assistance in support services such as; housing, clothing, health services, connecting with VA benefits and assistance dealing with trauma.

The Whidbey Veterans Resource Center asks for your assistance and support. As a 501c3 charitable organization, the group depend significantly on the generous support of the businesses and individuals who elect to give.
