Navy extends public comment period for Northwest training and testing EIS to April 15

The draft EIS evaluates the environmental impacts of military training and testing throughout the Northwest in designated areas.
The Navy’s proposed plan includes the use of active sonar and explosives, and pierside sonar maintenance and testing.
Eight public meetings were recently held in Washington, Oregon, Northern California and Southeastern Alaska.
The document can be viewed online and in print at Oak Harbor Library.
Visit the project website at www.nwtteis.com to download or view the draft EIS, view a map of the study area, learn more about the project and submit comments online.
Physical correspondence can be sent to: Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest, Attention Ms. Kimberly Kler, NWTT EIS/OEIS Project Manager, 1101 Tautog Circle, Suite 203. Silverdale, WA 98315-1101.
