Seaplane flying in for NAS Whidbey open house

Whidbey Island residents may notice something a little different in the skies this weekend.

Road crews will be out all summer repaving more than 30 miles of Highway 525/State 20 from Coupeville to Clinton. Drivers should allow an extra 30 minutes for their trips and to catch ferries. Crews worked near the intersection of Classic Road and HIghway 525 Tuesday morning putting down new asphalt and rolling it out. Whidbey’s main corridor work is long overdue, officials say.
