Whidbey Island Conservation District is accepting orders now through Jan. 30 on an assortment of Western Washington native plants.

The plants are one to two years old, average in height from 8 inches to 36 inches and are priced very reasonably. Most plants are bare root and sold in bundles of five, while a few varieties are sold individually in small pots.

Whidbey Island Conservation District is committed to assisting residents with resource conservation and wildlife habitat enhancement  on Whidbey Island. Native plants improve our water quality, reduce soil and wind erosion, clean the air, reduce energy costs, attract and support local wildlife, and beautify property, according to a news release.

Pick up for all confirmed orders will occur on Friday, March 2, at the WICD office in Coupeville, or Saturday, March 3 at the Greenbank Farm, just in time for spring planting!  Order soon as stock is limited.

By supporting the annual plant sale you will contribute to WICD programs, including educational workshops and assistance to rural landowners and farmers on topics including  farm and forest management and low impact development.
