Deli closing its doors after three years of operation

Zanini’s Deli will close its doors permanently on Saturday, April 30, according to a press release.

Zanini’s Deli, which has operated on Dock Street in Oak Harbor since 2020, will close its doors permanently on Saturday, April 30, according to a press release.

“I am incredibly sad to have had to make this really difficult decision,” said owner Jackie Catanio-Huerta. “My team and I have loved bringing my family’s home-cooked meals to our community. But the combination of staffing shortages, ongoing rising food prices and the challenge of running multiple businesses brought us to this day.”

Fans of Auntie Jackie’s food need not be completely dismayed. She will now offer her “Sunday Dinners” weekly via her website. This is a complete meal for one or two that includes an entrée, a side, a salad and Focaccia Bread with Auntie’s Special Dipping Oil. Customers can also order specialty items including a pan of lasagna, antipasti boards, sandwich platters, her famous lemon cake and more.

Auntie Jackie’s food will also still be available at local festivals as well as private events via Zanini’s Catering and Events.

“I have loved welcoming people to the deli and have made so many wonderful memories. I am so thankful for the love and support I received. A huge thank you from me, my team and my family. Please come by the Deli to say goodbye and stock up on your favorites before we close,” she said.
