Ted Clifton, owner of Clifton View Homes, received the Builder of the Year award from the the Building Industry Association of Washington.

Clifton was honored for his “countless contributions to the homebuilding industry and for leading the charge for green building and energy efficient design in Washington.” A news release describes him as a leader in the National Association of Home Building and his local association, the Skagit/Island Counties Builders Association.

“The ability to help one’s peer, while doing the things you love, is in itself, an honor and a privilege,” Clifton said. “I have been further honored with the 2009 BIAW Builder of the year award for my service to the building community, which mostly consists of teaching and promoting green building practices across our state and beyond.”

The Builder of the Year award was given out Nov. 5 at an Association meeting in Vancouver, Wash.

“We at SICBA are extremely proud of the work Ted Clifton has done,” said Wayne Crider, executive officer. “He is a true leader here at SICBA, as well as within our statewide and national building associations. There is no one more deserving of this 2009 BIAW Building of the Year award than Ted Clifton.”
