Grace Claire King, 89, of Coupeville, passed away on Nov. 9, 2018.

Grace was born in Seattle on Jan. 31, 1929. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle.

Grace was married to Kenny King on Dec. 4, 1948; they were married until Kenny’s passing in 1983.

Grace also shared many adventures with Rod Barnes, her longtime companion until 2015.

Grace worked as the secretary (and later as the office manager) at Coupeville Elementary School for over 25 years.

She enjoyed gardening and painting and was very involved with charitable activities in Coupeville. She was especially involved with the Coupeville Lions Club.

Grace is survived by her son Jeff, his wife Tami, her grandsons Jeff Bass, Joe Bass, Kenny King and granddaughter Kristina Dammrose, five great grandchildren, five nieces, one nephew, and numerous other family members and friends.

Grace is preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Bass.

A memorial service for Grace will be held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Wallin Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Grace would prefer memorial donations be given to the Coupeville Lion Club.
