Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue kicked off the holiday season Saturday at the Greening of Coupeville Parade.

Fire Commissioner Paul Messner, dressed as Santa, sat atop a lighted fire truck.

He and other members of the fire department will be visiting different Central Whidbey neighborhoods around 5:30 p.m. each night this week and next.

They started off Monday visiting neighborhoods around North Main Street and the north side of State Highway 20.

The rest of the schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, Dec. 6 — South Main Street side of SR20 and Crockett Lake;

Monday, Dec. 11 — Parker Road, Long Point, Rhodena, Harrington;

Wednesday, Dec. 13 — Ledgewood, Bon Air, Teronda;

Monday, Dec. 18 — Holmes Harbor, North Bluff;

Wednesday, Dec. 20 — Lagoon Point, Honeymoon Bay;

Friday, Dec. 22 — Race Road, Shangri La, Admirals Cove.
