Pilot OK after tire blows during landing

On Saturday morning North Whidbey Fire and Rescue got a call about a possible aircraft accident at Oak Harbor’s Eisenberg Field off Monroe Landing Road. A small sport plane from Seattle blew a tire while attempting to land and went off the runway. There were no injuries to the unidentified pilot, and very minor damage to one wheel fairing. Fire personnel assisted in moving the plane off the runway to a safe area.
