Stanwood beats Oak Harbor / Tennis

Stanwood defeated the visiting Oak Harbor High School tennis team 6-1, Wednesday, Oct. 4, to hold onto fourth place in the Wesco North.

The Wildcats (3-7, 4-10) remained in fifth place with the loss to the Spartans (5-4, 5-7).

The third doubles team of Ethan Wilson and Edison Soliman collected the Wildcats’ win, 6-4, 6-3.

Oak Harbor plays its final home match at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, when Everett (8-2, 10-3) visits.

The Wildcats close out the regular season at Marysville-Pilchuck at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9.

Doubles: 1, Trenton Cone/Jhaylan Munger lost 6-2, 6-1; 2, Ridgely Briddell/Mason Rhodes lost 6-2, 6-4; 3, Wilson/Soliman won 6-4, 6-3.
