A 64-year-old woman in Anacortes was taken into custody “on investigation of murder in the second degree” Tuesday, the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The sheriff’s office was asked to check on the welfare of an 84-year-old man living in the unincorporated area of Anacortes after the man hadn’t been seen or heard from for a week. Deputies found a body believing to be that of the missing man.
The woman who lived at the home with the man was taken into custody. The Skagit County jail roster shows that Kay D. Bowen was arrested on Satterlee Road and is on investigative hold for suspected murder.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and manner of death, the sheriff’s office reported.
