Incumbents have the experience

It is my opinion that our current mayor and town council members are without a doubt, the best collective group of Coupeville elected officials we have ever voted into office. They are highly concerned about the welfare of the town and what the future holds for Coupeville. Mayor Nancy Conard has done an outstanding job in her position as mayor, and in her position and duties as town administrator. She is running for mayor because she loves Coupeville. Her lists of community involvement are like reading a grocery list of civic organizations. Her opponent has stated he is running for the office of mayor, “to offer the people a choice of candidates.” Looks like a “no brainer” to me. Vote to retain Mayor Conard.

The three incumbent town council members who are up for re-election are Molly Hughes, Marshall Bronson and Bob Clay. Not only do these three folks give up countless hours of their own personal time performing their duties as Town Council members, but all three of them also spend many hours as chair persons and board members on several local and national civic committees. Experiences with civic groups where people learn to give and take opinions and viewpoints are an asset to any person who helps lead a town government.

It is vital that we, the voting citizens of Coupeville, realize these people study the issues, talk to town citizens and vote with their best knowledge and information.

Now we come to the four challengers in the up-coming Coupeville election. I don’t think you will be surprised to find the amount of positive volunteer civic involvement from any of these four folks would amount to very little, if any. Another “no brainer.” Vote to retain the incumbent town council members.
