George ‘Butch’ E. Jr. Sieffert

George ‘Butch’ E. Sieffert, Jr. a former longtime Oak Harbor resident, passed away suddenly on May 20, in Rio Vista, Calif.

Butch was born October 17, 1944, in Oak Harbor, to George and Jennie (Lam) Sieffert.

He attended Oak Harbor schools and graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1963.

George was an avid bass fisherman.

He spent his early years working for Dean and Vivian Anderson on their farm.

He then went to work for Glade Mills in Oak Harbor.

He moved to White Water, Wis., where he worked as a marine mechanic and a volunteer fireman. After this, he moved with his family to Rio Vista, Calif. where he was employed as a marine mechanic. He retired as a city public works supervisor. He was a longtime member of the Rio Vista Bass Club, and worked with the California Bass Association.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, and is the loving father of Jennie (Harold) Emmons, Theresa (Bert) Campbell, Kristy Santos; devoted brother of Edwin (Linda) Sieffert, Gene (Mickey) Sieffert, Larry (Jill) Sieffert and Shelley (John) Shepherd; adored grandfather of Jamie Saldana, Jason Emmons, James Emmons, Kandace Griffin, Brianna Santos and Rheagan Santos; cherished great-grandfather of Sydney, Isabella, Sophia and Brooklynn Saldana, Emmajean, Angelina, Skyler and Christian Emmons, Jacobi and Jaxon Griffin and Brayden Emmons; son-in-law of Wayne Prior; and brother-in-law of Thomas and Wallace Prior. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenny Emmons.

A celebration of life will be held at Dugualla Bay Club House at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 18, followed by a potluck reception. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com
