Lynette Juliet

Lynette R. Juliet, 89, of Oak Harbor, died at Whidbey General Hospital Oct. 16, 2004.
Mrs. Juliet was born in Detroit, Mich., June 29, 1915, to John Harvey Williams and Ruey (Yeatman) Williams. She was raised in the community of Van der Cook Lake, outside Detroit. Lynette’s mother was her grade school teacher, and she graduated from high school in Van der Cook Lake. She attended Grace Hospital Nursing School, where she became a licensed practical nurse.
In 1936, Lynette married Clifford P. Juliet. They resided in Michigan until 1948, at which time they moved to Woodland Hills, Calif. Lynette was a nurse for 51 years, and retired from the Motion Picture Hospital in Woodland Hills at the age of 72. In 1977, they moved to Camarillo, Calif., where they remained until 1987, when they moved to Oak Harbor.
Lynette was a member of the Coupeville Garden Club and First Reformed Church. She enjoyed gardening, painting, beading, crocheting and knitting. She was an avid reader and loved to travel.
Lynette is survived by her son Paul Juliet of Miami, Fla.; her daughter, Lynn Burrows of Oak Harbor; her daughter Joan Van Der Bush and husband Gary of Chester, Calif.; her son Fred Juliet and wife Deborah of Dallas, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Kimberley Latsha, Allison Rapaport, Dean Van der Bush, Brad Juliet, Kirsten Stephens, Tracy Juliet and Brandon Juliet; five great-grandchildren, Lahna, Monica and Gina Van der Bush and Jacob and Noah Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford in 1995 and by her twin sisters, Carol Culbertson and Catherine Lee.
A memorial service was held Oct. 19 at Summer Hill Assisted Living, Rev. Jon Brown officiating. Inurnment will be private. Memorials may be made to the Whidbey Island Hospital Foundation Tree of Life, P.O. Box 641, Coupeville, WA 98239, in memory of Lynette Juliet. Arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
