Edith B. (Hunt) Grindeland

Edith B. (Hunt) Grindeland went to Heaven on March 20, 2006. Born in Oak Harbor on June 11, 1912 to Clarence and Mae Hunt, she graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1930, and after attended Bellingham Norm.
She then moved to Seattle where she was employed at Greyhound from October 1946 until retiring in 1971. In October 1963, she married Ernie Grindeland, a driver at Greyhound. She enjoyed the trips they went on in the U.S. as well as Canada. She also enjoyed crocheting, the dahlias in her garden, and adding plates to her numerous collection.
At a multi-class reunion held in August 2005, she was recognized as the oldest (93 years) graduate in attendance. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, sisters Clara and Myrtis, brother Bill, and Mandy. She is survived by nieces, nephews and her “baby,” Misti. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 25 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, Seattle.
