Glenn Norris Zimmerman

Glenn Norris Zimmerman, 80, 34-year resident of Oak Harbor, died at Careage of Whidbey Saturday, March 20, 2004.

Mr. Zimmerman was born in Florence, Ore., May 22, 1923, to Gabriel and Sadie Zimmerman. Glenn was married to Dorothy Hagen March 19, 1948, in Everett. He served in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1963 as an chief petty officer. He then started working Civil Service at Sandpoint Naval Station and later Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, retiring again in 1987. He and his wife Dorothy enjoyed trips to Reno and Las Vegas during their retirement years.

Glenn is survived by his children, Barbara Sconzo and her husband Dennis and their children Dennis Jr. and Dyana, all of Redmond; Gordon Zimmerman and his wife Michele of Coupeville; and Lyle Zimmerman and his wife Bridget and their children, Vanessa, Amanda and James, all of Oak Harbor.

In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements and cremation under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
