Neil C. Mastrud, 61, of Dallas, Texas and Oak Harbor, died March 23, 2006 in Mesa, Az.

Neil Conrad Mastrud, the son of Conrad and Estella (Pladson) Mastrud, was born Oct. 7, 1944 in Northwood, N.D. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton, N.D. He attended Fargo Central High School in North Dakota, graduating with the class of 1962. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for six years, receiving his honorable discharge in 1968.

Neil was employed by Texas Instruments, purchased by Raytheon, Inc., later in his career. He loved his work which took him traveling around the world. Neil will be truly missed by his family and the host of friends he made throughout his life.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Mary Korsmo of Mesa, Ariz., and Naomi Lundeen of Fargo; his three brothers, Keith Mastrud and Ennis Mastrud, both of Fargo, and David Mastrud of Cisco, Texas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Neil was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Leslie.

Funeral services were held March 31 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton, with burial in St. John Cemetery, Hatton. The Bilden Funeral Home of Hatton was in charge of arrangements.
