Diane Ulrich

Diane Ulrich died suddenly at her home Friday, May 5, 2006. She was born in Seattle to Charles J. and Annie A. Hill.

Diane was raised in the Burlington area and graduated from Bow-Edison High School. She attended Skagit Valley College, obtaining an Associates Degree in Nursing. Gus and Diane were married in 1988 in Oak Harbor, starting their life together on Whidbey Island.

Diane was presently working at Regency of Oak Harbor where she cared for many in the assisted living portion of the facility. Her work with senior citizens and her nursing helped to touch the hearts of everyone that she knew. She has left a large void in the lives of many.

Diane was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Soroptomist International of North Whidbey, the Oak Harbor Investment Club and the Eagles Club of Burlington.

Diane loved to travel, garden, read, play with her dogs, music, movies and dancing.

Diane is survived by her husband Gus at the family home in Oak Harbor, daughters Robin and husband Bob Anderson of Tonasket, Christine and husband David Wright of Bellingham, Ruth Kaaland of Eastern Washington, son Greg and wife June Ulrich of Winter Park, Florida, grandchildren Dane and Duncan Wright, Gavin Ulrich, Trina Kaaland, Maleina Deana, Angelina and Rico or Clear Lake. She is also survived by brother Charles and wife Debbie Hill of Sedro-Woolley, sister Janet Daly and husband Michael Katarzy of Burlington, uncles Jack Hill of Anacortes, Gene and Rhoda Lindstrom of La Conner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Eugene and her sister Karen.

A service celebrating the life of Diane Ulrich will be held Wednesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor.
