Carmen C. Compney, 62, of Oak Harbor, died May 11, 2008. He was born on August 21, 1945 to Vera (Morris ) and Carmen C. Compney in Farragut, Idaho. Carmen served in the United States Air Force. On August 7, 1978, Carmen married Betty J. (Smith) Lewis in Farragut.

Carmen has lived and worked in the Oak Harbor area for over 33 years. He was employed with Civil Service at NAS Whidbey Island as a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Oak Harbor; mother and step-father Vera and Charles Adelfson of Spokane; five daughters and spouses; numerous grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service was held May 16 at Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor. Interment with military honors followed in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
