Daryl Beem

Daryl O. Beem passed away Sept. 14, 2003, surrounded by his loving family at Veteran’s Medical Center Hospital in Seattle after a long illness.
Daryl was born Jerome, Idaho, Jan. 9, 1955, to Truman and Ruby Beem. Daryl grew up in Jerome, Idaho, and graduated from Jerome High School in 1975. He later joined the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carriers USS Midway and USS Harry S. Truman, while stationed in Japan and Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.
Daryl is survived by his wife of 17 years, Bonnie M. Beem; his parents, Truman and Ruby Beem of Jerome, Idaho; sons Rick Beem and Nick Beem of Twin Falls, Idaho; daughter Katie Beem of Shoshone, Idaho; stepsons Chad Parvin of Twin Falls, Idaho, and David Parvin, currently serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq; brothers Capt. Don Beem, USN, of Virginia and Dan Beem of Jerome, Idaho; sister-in-law Sydney Beem of Virginia; nieces, Heather Stafford of Virginia and Amy Beem of Twin Falls, Idaho; nephews Jeff Beem of Arizona, Kelly Beem of Washington and Nate Beem of Virginia; and grandchildren, Mikaila of Shoshone, Idaho; Josh of Oak Harbor and Paige of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Daryl and Bonnie had lived in Oak Harbor for the past 13 years where he was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station; Bonnie still lives in Oak Harbor.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Katy Beem of Jerome, Idaho and Lloyd and Iva West of Eden, Idaho; his daughter, Tara Lee Beem and his sister, Debra Ann Beem.
A memorial service was held Sept. 19 at the United Methodist Church in Jerome, Idaho.
