Charles F. Meinnert

Charles F. “Charlie” Meinnert died Jan. 11, 2004, at Whidbey General Hospital. He was born May 10, 1920, in Staten Island, N.Y. He was born and raised in New York and served in the United States Navy in World War II and during the Korean War. He returned to Staten Island, where he worked and was a member of Local No. 79, Mason Tenders Union. He retired and moved with his wife to Green Valley, Ariz.

Charlie enjoyed reading, sunshine, good food and an independent spirit. Preceded in death by his wife, Cathy in 1999, he is survived by his sister, Janice Edmons (Howard), of Everett; nephew, Robert Edmons (wife-Toni) of Oak Harbor; and nieces Lois Maxwell (John) of Green Valley, Ariz., and Elaine Ball (Andy) of Newfield, N.J.

A memorial luncheon will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Arbor Place at Silver Lake in Everett. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a favorite charity.
