Melba Hokanson Williams

Melba Hokanson Williams, 86, was called home to her Heavenly Father Jan. 3, 2004. She was born in Salt Lake City Sept. 4, 1917, to John Robert and Eva Elizabeth Hokanson. Melba married Phillip Wayne Williams Aug. 17, 1936, in Salt Lake City, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was preceded in death by her beloved Wayne, two brothers Bud and Jack Hokanson, three sisters, Lucille Holt, Thora Columbus, and Beth Baird. She is survived by her sons, Bob (Pam) of Boise, Idaho, and Steve (Julie) of Oak Harbor, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters, Della Engh of Salt Lake and Ruth Hodge of California and a sister-in-law, Claire Hokanson of California. Melba is remembered as a talented floral designer, having worked many years in her sister’s floral shop in Salt Lake. She was an active member of the Relief Society of Oak Harbor Third Ward, LDS Church. Services and interment will be in Salt Lake City, Utah, Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 at 11 a.m.
