Guy Norman Urquhart, Jr.

Guy Urquhart, 89, died Oct. 20, 2007, at his residence in Coupeville. He was born April 7, 1918, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Guy Sr. and Ruth nee Durdy Urquhart. He graduated from high school in Idaho in 1936.
In Feb. 1940, Guy joined the National Guard. Later that year he went on active duty and served in the U.S. Army throughout World War II.
Guy met Clara Langbakk while serving in the Army at Camp Livingston, La. They were married in June of 1945. When Guy was discharged at the end of the war they moved to Seattle, settling in the Crown Hill area and later in North Seattle. Clara opened a beauty shop and Guy went to work for Boeing, in the “Red Barn” where he became an aircraft model maker. He worked for Boeing for 33 years before retiring in 1981.
Guy and Clara purchased property in the Coupeville area in the 1960s and built a home on the property in 1980, the year before he retired. They enjoyed boating the waters of Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands for 30 years. They also traveled in their motor home, visiting the many places in the U.S. and Canada.
Guy is survived by his sons Dennis Urquhart with wife Dianne of Lynnwood, and Ronald with wife Violet of Lake Stevens, along with daughter Dianne Zeger with husband John of Marysville. He also leaves four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services for Guy Urquhart will be held at New Beginnings Church 21705 58th Avenue West, Mountlake Terrace, on Sat., Nov. 3, a 1 p.m.
Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
