Jack Isaacson, 78, a Coupeville resident, passed away peacefully May 19, 2004, at Providence Everett Hospital from complications due to an extended illness. Mr. Isaacson was pre-deceased by his wife of more than 50 years, Alice June Isaacson, in 1995.

Raised in West Seattle, he graduated from West Seattle High School in 1943 and entered the Army Air Corps for pilot training. After World War II he obtained his private pilot’s license and joined his father, Delos C. Isaacson, in the automobile business in Pasco. He continued his automotive career in Eugene, Ore., from 1958 to 1968 and then moved to Salem, Ore., and became a principal, and then President of McKinney Lincoln-Mercury, retiring in 1987. Enjoying both fishing and crabbing, the Isaacson’s relocated to Neskowin, Ore., in 1988 and, in 1991, moved to Coupeville where they built their retirement home.

He is survived by sons Jon L. Isaacson, of Birch Bay and Jeff J. Isaacson of Kirkland as well as a granddaughter, Julie Branaugh and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Haley, and Madison, all of Redmond, Ore. His sister, Beverly Wadsworth, resides in Salem, Oregon.

He was known by all to be an affable man of good wit who always had a story and appreciated a sense of humor. He particularly enjoyed barbecuing and was exceptionally knowledgeable about finance, fishing and the automobile business.

There will be a private memorial on the Puget Sound sometime in the near future.
