Helen C. Frey

Helen C. Frye, 81, 43-year resident of Whidbey Island, died at Providence Medical Center in Everett Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Frye was born in Tacoma Jan. 12, 1922, to Christina and John Erickson. She was raised in Parkland. Helen moved to Whidbey Island in 1960. Her interests included sewing, quilting and reading. Her greatest love was her family, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a loving, caring mother.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Joan Albert and husband Joseph of Clinton and Leslie Franzen and husband Derek of Coupeville; two sons, Larry Frye and wife Michelle of Camano Island and Jim Frye and wife Bonnie, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren, Kelsi and Garrett Franzen of Coupeville, Annaliese Frye of Camano Island, Samantha and Greg Frye of Toronto and Steve Albert of Clackamas, Ore.; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Frye and Julia Albert; three sisters, Betty Cochran and husband Jim of Moses Lake, Maria Chantry of Parkland and Evelyn Carlson and husband George of Gig Harbor; two brothers, Clarence Erickson of Spanaway and Ed Erickson of Ellensburg; also, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther and Margaret; and by two brothers, George and Al.

A graveside memorial service was held Dec. 19 at Sunnyside Cemetery, Pastor Mary Boyd officiating. Memorials may be made to Friends of Whidbey Home Health, P.O. Box 400, Coupeville, WA 98239. Arrangements and cremation under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
