Frank Jr. Mortenson

Frank “Bud” C. Mortenson Jr., 86, passed away peacefully on Aug. 22, 2013.
Bud was born to Frank Sr. and Marie on Jan. 3, 1927, in Ketchikan, Alaska. He was a member of the local high school basketball team. He served in the Navy during World War II. After proudly serving his country he met the love of his life, Anne-Marie, of 62 years. He shared in the family business, Palace Laundry & Cleaners in Ballard. After selling the business, he drove school bus for Shoreline School District. When he retired, he moved to Coupeville where he lived for the past 19 years.
Bud loved to golf and enjoyed watching a wide variety of sports. He could bring a smile to anyone’s face with a joke or two.
When he was younger he liked to ride his Harley and get together with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Marie and his brother Robert.
He is survived by his wife Anne-Marie, his daughters Diane Davis and Debra (Terry) Hurd, his son Frank (Ardis) Mortenson, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his brother Mel.
He was the best husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
There will be a Celebration of Life 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, on Whidbey Island in Harrington Lagoon in the community lot.
Special thanks to Whidbey General Hospital for taking such good care of him.
He will be missed deeply by family and friends.
