Theresa A. Wiggins

Theresa Ann Wiggins, 18, died on July 30, 2006 at St. Alphonso Hospital, Boise, Idaho from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Theresa was born Feb. 26, 1988 in the Philippines to Glenn R. and Teresa (Ombao) Wiggins.
Theresa’s father was transferred to Yukosaka, Japan in 1991 where Theresa attended preschool and kindergarten. She also began a lifetime involvement with Judo at age six. In 1995, the Wiggins family moved to Oak Harbor. Theresa completed her First Communion and Confirmation at St. Joseph of Cupertino Catholic Church, NAS Whidbey Island.
Theresa attended Oak Harbor Olympic View, Crescent Harbor and Broadview Elementary, Oak Harbor Middle School and Oak Harbor High School. She graduated from Oak Harbor High School with the Class of 2006 on June 12, 2006. At the time of her death, she was enroute to Oklahoma to begin her college education in Health Care Technology.
While at Oak Harbor High School she was a member of the NJROTC program. She also volunteered as an after school tutor for middle school students in the library. During her elementary school years, she played soccer. Her passion remained with Judo and she was an active participant in the NAS Whidbey Island Judo team. She received her Black Belt on July 26, 2006.
Theresa is survived by her parents Glenn and Teresa Wiggins and one sister Rhonda Wiggins, all of Oak Harbor. Her paternal grandfather Bill Dwayne Wiggins, her paternal grandmother Georgia Ann Wiggins and her maternal grandmother Dominga Ombao (Lola) also survive her.
Funeral Mass was celebrated August 4 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Oak Harbor with Rev. Michael O’Neil as Celebrant. Rite of Committal followed at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Visitation for family and friends was held August 3 at Burley Funeral Chapel. Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
