Our son and brother, Theodore John Bighouse, born in 1958, passed away June 2, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Seattle. Ted was loved by his family and many friends and left many great memories. Some may see his life as tragic but choose to remember him for his cutting wit, his caring for his fellow man and his undying passion for truth in the world around him. Ted was a brilliant mind, inquisitive and thoughtful. It was difficult to see him struggle after his accident when he seemed so different on the outside, confused with the world around him and the challenges that brought.
Throughout his life he was a voracious reader and loved classic works as well as the Bible. All of his brothers had the opportunity to spend some time with him before his death. It was very gratifying to see us all together, laughing and sharing memories of our childhood and family times past. Ted never had blame for the cards he was dealt, his forgiving soul allowed him to see past the inadequacies in people. Even when he felt the world had treated him unjustly. The world was a better, kinder place with him in it and he will be missed.
Ted is survived by his grandparents, Harry and Frances Lafayette; his mother, Beverly Bighouse; brothers, Joseph (Louise) of Pateros, Wash., Lawrence (Tiki) of Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho, Mathew (Deidre) of Kaiser, Ore., and Andrew Bighouse (Kathy) of Oak Harbor; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special heartfelt thank you to our Uncle Mark Lafayette for his help and caring for Ted recently and over the years.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Barton Funeral of Kirkland. Memorials may be made to the Bailey Boushay House, 2720 E Madison Ave., Seattle, WA 98112.
