Be sure before sending money

Just a reminder especially to senior citizens that if you are contacted by someone claiming that one of your grandkids needs financial assistance to return home from a foreign country, check with your family and then report the incident to local law enforcement.

Recently, a local grandmother sent $1,900 in response to such an account, only to find that it was a scam.

Never send money to anyone unless you are absolutely sure of who you are dealing with.
