Suspicious man bears Bibles at school | Island Scanner

The following incidents were reported to the Oak Harbor Police Department:

Tuesday, April 26

At 8:04 a.m., there was a report of tools stolen from a location on Northwest Crosby Avenue.

At 9:36 a.m., a caller reported that several suspicious people were wearing hoodies on Northeast Third Avenue.

At 11:46 a.m., a driver reported that a person in a wheelchair was traveling on the highway.

At 3:53 p.m., a Cordero Place resident reported that chickens were running around the neighborhood.

At 7:11 p.m., a woman reported that her kids gave a man the “Vulcan sign” and he thought they flipped him off. He said some angry words and said he would be back.

Wednesday, April 27

At 11:40 a.m., a caller on Southeast Barrington Drive reported that a man grabbed a female employee’s leg and tried to take her shoes.

Thursday, April 28

At 10:15 a.m., a Falls Creek Loop resident reported that a suspicious man came to her door selling Hooked on Phonics.

At 2:55 p.m., a caller reported that a suspicious man with Bibles in his hands was standing near North Whidbey Middle School.

At 5:18 p.m., a caller reported that a woman was flapping her hands and walking into traffic on the highway.

Friday, April 29

At 9:48 p.m., a man on Kettle Street complained that his girlfriend was saying he’s violent. He said he hasn’t done anything and she’s “complaining about some cheese.”

At 12:45 p.m., a Quinault Street resident reported finding a box of .22 shells in her garden.

Saturday, April 30

At 11:54 p.m., a caller reported that a man was holding his foot in the middle of Midway Boulevard.

Sunday, may 1

At 12:26 a.m., a Fairway Point Drive resident reported that a young boy was at the door and he didn’t know his address.

At 6:06 p.m., a caller reported that a suspicious person “tucked back in” the bushes near the Freund Marsh.

Saturday, May 2

At 8:33 a.m., a caller reported that two 100-foot extension cords were stolen from the back of a work truck on Southwest Loerland Drive.
