Letter: Trump’s war puts soldiers in harm’s way

Editork,

No disrespect to Vietnam veterans, it’s my belief that anyone that served in combat during that was would not want any “boots on the ground” in Iran. For those that enlisted and those that were drafted and lucky enough to have returned home never forgot the horror or those People lost.

In America we watched every night on TV. That is what started the anti-war movement. It was never against soldiers; it was against us losing our soldiers.

It was the daily count of young men’s deaths and even more hurt. MASH was not a comedy. Americans saw the government having us in a war with no idea how to end it. It would be more and more hurt soldiers and citizens. Any U.S. was after Vietnam, the news never did daily counts or showed TV video of battles on the nightly news.

Watching Pete Hegseth talk to the world about your bravery as soldiers back then, to talk young people into thinking this Iran war is good and winnable. Is this the boots on the ground bravery and sacrifice our soldiers are going to need in Trump’s war? Don’t forget this is with the backing of this GOP Congress because they are letting this mad man and his cabinet of clowns jeopardize our soldiers.

We the People need a Congress that won’t allow greed, oppression, power destroy our nation! The Republican party of insurrectionist needs to be replaced.

I keep hoping to see a Gen Z party in America’s future. Vote out Republicans.
