Oak Harbor High School girls varsity volleyball team beat Ferndale High School in four nail-biting sets at home on Friday.

The Oak Harbor girls were victorious against Ferndale Sept. 30, winning three sets out of four to secure a victory over the state-ranked team.

Coach Kerri Molitor said the girls’ strengths include supporting one another on the court and focusing on consistent improvement.

“Ferndale is a strong team, with a tradition of success,” Molitor said. “It felt really good to compete with them, and come out on top. The match was close, and it was exciting to be playing on our home court with our amazing student body supporting us.”

The set scores were 26-24, 20-25, 25-21, and 25-21.

“Looking forward, we have a tough league to finish, and I fully anticipate seeing Ferndale again at Districts,” Molitor said.
