Letter: Post office staff are not at fault for problems

Editor,
I must respond to the July 2 letter from Sally Baker complaining about our Langley Post Office. They have been running understaffed for at least a year now. That is not the fault of the employees who work there, who would be the first to want more help. The fault lies at the top with the postmaster general’s policies and his staff.
Alex and Drew are busting their butts doing the work of four or five and putting in 12 hour plus days and working weekends. I am there at least once a week and they are always polite and efficient. Criticizing/blaming them is insensitive and unfair. Amazon has their own trucks on the mainland but here they dump their deliveries on our guys. Have a little compassion and respect for our hard-working guys holding down the fort under horrible conditions.
