Oak Harbor Marina boat launch re-opens

The boat launch ramp at the Oak Harbor Marina is repaired and available for use.

The City of Oak Harbor Marina closed the boat launch ramp April 4 because of damage to the float and pile from a windstorm. News of the closure was shared with the public on the city’s website and the Marina and City of Oak Harbor’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

Thanks to teamwork between the Marina and Public Works staff, the Marina announced the opening of the boat launch ramp Wednesday. More repairs are planned for the future; however, the debris is removed, and the launch is open for use by boaters.

“I want to thank the community for their patience as staff worked on repairs, Marina staff, and especially Public Works for their help in getting the launch repairs completed,” Harbormaster Chris Sublet said. “The float remains out of service for the time being.”
