ADA-compliant voting device available at county elections office

Island County has an Americans with Disabilities Act compliant touch screen voting device available for county residents who require certain accommodations to cast their ballots.
The device, located at the county elections office at 400 N. Main Street in Coupeville, can display larger type or relay an audio ballot. It also supports some assistive switches, such as foot pedals or sip and puff devices.
Voters can use a select wheel or tactile button options to cast their votes.
The device is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday leading up to the election, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day, Feb. 8.
Any voters may receive personal, confidential voting assistance at the elections office during the hours listed above. No appointment is required.
