SAR rescues hiker near Green Mountain

A Search and Rescue team from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island rescued a hiker suffering from traumatic injuries June 4 near Green Mountain.

The SAR crew arrived in the area, east of Granite Falls, in the mid-afternoon, where they quickly linked up with local first responders who were attending the hiker, a 48-year-old woman.

The injured hiker was hoisted aboard the SAR helicopter and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

NAS Whidbey SAR has conducted 18 total missions throughout Washington state this year.
