Wildcats take 12th in 23-team tournament / Boys golf

The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team placed 12th out of 23 teams at the 18th annual Tom Dolan Memorial Invitational Monday, April 8, at the Everett Golf and Country Club.

The Wildcats finished with 355 strokes, just three out of eighth place in a tight battle in the middle of the pack.

Kamiak broke the team-scoring record by 10 strokes with a winning total of 286.

The Knights’ Alvin Kwak took medalist honors with a five-under 67 to become the first two-time winner of the event.

Oak Harbor’s Nick Krantz shot 86, good for 39th out of 93 in the individual standings.

Aidan Wyer carded an 87, Nate Thompson 91, Cole Valdez 91 and Haven Brown 92.

Oak Harbor hosts Marysville Getchell, Meadowdale and Stanwood at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Whidbey Golf Club.
