Laverne Fisher Dorman died Oct. 14 in Oak Harbor. She was born Jan. 12, 1940 in Stockton, Calif. She was predeceased by her parents, Francis J. and Velma R. Fisher, and her sister Jeanette Fisher Matson.
She was the CFO and director of Wilsey Ham, a San Fransisco Bay area civil engineering firm for 33 years. She designed and built her home in Oak Harbor after retiring in 2005.
She was a member of the Whidbey Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dan and Annette Matson of Santa Rosa and her niece Kim Matson Martin, of Rancho Cordova, Calif. and dear friends Hope and Keith Fakkema of Oak Harbor.
There will be a celebration of life at Whidbey Presbyterian Church, 1148 SE 8th Avenue, Oak Harbor on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. followed by a buffet lunch in Heritage Hall for family and friends. Pastor Jon Draskovich and Rev. David Lura officiating. Burial at sea at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of the Neptune Society.
