Town marshal out 8 weeks for shoulder surgery

Coupeville Marshal Chris Garden is off duty for at least eight weeks after undergoing shoulder surgery Thursday.
“They will be repairing some damage that I have sustained over the years,” Garden said in an email. “During my absence, Sgt. Laura Price with the Island County Sheriff’s Office will be taking my place.
“Nothing should change except for the face,” Garden wrote.
Price is a longtime Island County sheriff’s deputy. She currently serves as the detective sergeant.
She is also a strong victim advocate, Garden said.
The Town of Coupeville contracts for police services through the Island County Sheriff’s Office that staffs two positions at the marshal’s office in Coupeville Town Hall.
