Island Thrift staff showed compassion | Letter

This letter is to publicly thank Island Thrift and its staff for their excellent work and compassion.

A month ago, my mother passed away, and a few weeks later I took her remaining belongings to Island Thrift.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that, in one of the boxes, was an American Girl doll, Kirsten.

She was dressed in a Santa Lucia costume.

This doll was a special doll to my mom. I was so sad that I had inadvertently not taken it out of the box before donating the items.

Early last Monday morning, I stopped into Island Thrift and explained my dilemma.

The staff patiently and empathetically listened and took note of the details.

Later that day, I received a call that they had found the doll, and a couple days later they found the Santa Lucia crown.

My heart was touched by the staff and their concern over my concern.
