Eva Marie Murdock Brown

Eva Marie Murdock Brown, age 93, passed away on Oct. 26, 2015.
She had lived in Oak Harbor since 1986. Eva was born on Oct. 13, 1922, in Maynard, Ark., to James Walter and Clara May Crismon Murdock. She was married to Raymond U. Brown (deceased in 1970) in 1946.
After spending two years in the Navy WAVES as a hospital apprentice 1st class, Eva attended Arkansas State College, where she received a degree in elementary education. She taught school in Cook County, Illinois, and Randolph County, Arkansas, for a total of 35 years.
Retiring from the Pocahontas School System in 1985, Eva moved to Oak Harbor the following year to be near her son and his family.
Eva is survived by her son, Jim (Lynn) Brown of Oak Harbor; three grandchildren, Matt (Amy) Brown of Rochester, Mich., Bekka (John) Gresham of Oakland, Mich., Ben Brown of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Eva was a member of the Oak Harbor Church of Christ. Inurnment will be at a later date.
