The National Weather Service is predicting southeastern winds tonight between 15-30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.
The strongest winds are expected to occur between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The wind speed prediction is about the same as Saturday night’s storm where Whidbey Island Naval Air Station peaked at western winds at 32 miles per hour with gust up to 48.
The affected locations are expected to be from Oak Harbor to Anacortes.
Winds this strong can snap small branches, topple small or shallow-rooted trees and cause local power outages, according to NWS.
