Barbara Anne Caron died on July 22, 2012 at Regency on Whidbey-Harbor Care at the age of 54. She was born in Hartford, CT on February 7, 1958 to Joseph and Elizabeth Caron. She was raised in Wethersfield, CT, where she graduated from high school. She attended Manchester Community College and received her Associate of Arts Degree.
Barbara enlisted in the U. S Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in 1978. She completed Basic Training in Orlando and Corps School in Great Lakes. Her duty stations included Oakland, CA, Okinawa, Bethesda, MD, Virginia Beach, Brunswick, MN San Diego, CA and NAS Whidbey Island. In 1998 with 20 years of active duty, Barbara retired. She was an avid quilter, a passion she shared with her mother. She loved visiting various quilt shows and was a member of the Fidalgo Island Quilters, Quilters on the Rock, and NW Quilting Connection.
She was preceded in death by her father Joseph in 2001 and her mother Elizabeth in 2010. Survivors include her brother Robert J. Caron and spouse Katie of Wethersfield, CT, and one sister Madeline M. Lux and husband Jeff of Oberusel, Germany and by a twin niece and nephew, David J. and Stephanie C. Lux.
Funeral services were celebrated at Wallin Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 with Rev. Jerry Kienzle as Celebrant. Cremation was held with Rites of Committal to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth, NY.
